Knitting and Crochet
Julie O'Neill

I always knitted as a child with a friend’s mum who taught me lots. Didn’t knit for many years until I had my first daughter who I knitted for.

After putting the pins away again for many years took it up again to help stop smoking. Yes, it helped and 5 years on I’m still off the cigarettes and still knitting!  Also in the last few years I learned to read crochet patterns and do lots of crochet as well as knitting.

I get my inspiration from wool. I see something I like and then decide what to make with it. I do occasional commissions depending on time constraints.

Julie recently taught herself Mochila crochet. This is a style of mosaic crochet, usually used for bags and purses.  She is also ‘re-using & re-cycling’ using ring pulls from cans and made a great tote bag.
